One of the things I love about Columbus is what a huge event Race for the Cure is every year. The city is an explosion of pink for weeks beforehand, and on the day of 50,000 plus people come out to walk, run, and/or support the cause. They have live bands all the way along the course and bikers with Harleys revving their engines for the last half mile which is just the kind of encouragement you need at the end of a 5k run! If you have this event in your city, you should definitely make an effort to be a part of it in some way. I think everyone has had a friend or relative who has struggled with breast cancer, and for every tragic story there is a story of survival. Hopefully in the not too distant future everyone will be able to be a survivor!
