BridalCheek

a journey toward non-traditional wedded bliss, with style

About Me March 9, 2008

I’m a Seattle girl who fell in love with an Ohio boy. I’m a full time teacher, part time grad student, aspiring fashionista, and historical fiction junkie. My fiancé is a web developer, and was not only willingly involved in the planning of the wedding, but very tolerant of my continued obsession.

i love the “grecian” dress – do you know who the designer is? and is it still at nordstrom?

  8. laragale Says:

Which grecian dress? I’ve posted so many it’s hard to keep them straight 🙂 If you let me know what post it’s in, I’ll track it down for you!

  9. Diane Bayuk Says:

You have a really interesting blog. I have created new, alternative gift bows for all those gifts that are mailed, or for those you need to take to the wedding in your suitcase or purse. They will not crush, as do traditional bows! They’re sparkling and fun, and can also be party favors. I think you’ll like them.

I’m in full-blown planning mode and recently started working for a company that represents OneWed.com. I know you post a lot of great designs of all kinds on your blog, and I thought you might be interested in passing on information about this custom wedding invitation contest OneWed has partnered on.

Contestants can enter by visiting http://www.OneWed.com to view complete submission guidelines, rules and regulations. 16. Allison Says:

    Hello,

I love the site. It is very informative and so cute!

I wanted to let you know about this artist, as she did the most incredible thing for our wedding.

When my husband and I got married we wanted something that was just ours, something to define us! We found this artist who does custom heart portraits. She met with the two of us, and took “notes” of colors and rhythm she saw between us. She asked us questions about how we first met, how he proposed, etc. She then came up with this beautiful piece of work that was custom for us! We used this for our invitations, party favors, and the color theme for our wedding! It was so special because it was something that represented the both of us and our life together!

I found a link to the website: http://debbiemariegallery.com/debbie-marie-arambula-heart-portraits.html It was such a great thing for us to do!

    Best,

    Allison

  17. Rachel Says:

    Hey!
So I sorta stumbled upon your blog while searching the web for art deco wedding ideas. My engagement ring is a yellow sapphire art deco style ring. Anyway, I live in Hartville, OH and my fiancee is from Columbus. I just got back from visiting him this past weekend. We were out on the town you know to eat and see some of the shops and such in Short North. Soo I thought it was funny that you are from there and I managed to find your site out of all the sites out there. So i thought I’d leave you a note saying how much I enjoyed your site and all that you have going on here. 🙂

    Hi There,

I came across your blog and thought our company and products might be something your readers would be interested in. We are Personalwine.com and we combine select award-winning wines with your unique personalized label to create the ultimate expression, your own personalized bottle of wine. We make it very simple with an online label designer where people can go in and select from pre-existing labels, upload their own images, etc. The other great part about it is that it is affordable on most budgets, with bottles starting as low as $19. They are great for favors or as the wine you supply at the actual wedding. Also great for Bridal Showers, Thank You Gifts, Bachelorette Parties, etc.

    Thanks!
    Annie

BuySparklers.com, a leading retail website for wedding sparklers, announces the arrival of NEW HEART-shaped sparklers for weddings and all romantic events. These large heart-shaped sparklers are the first of their size to be made readily available to the United States wedding industry.

  29. Donna,
Hope all is well, noticed you haven’t posted in a while. If you can still post a couple times a month I would be interested in exchanging links with you from my wedding blog that I post to at least once a week *Wedding & Engagement Noise”.
I also have a quick business related question. Friends of mine over at a online wedding retailer are interested in advertising & being listed on your current blog as a possible image with alt text or a text link in your right navigation under “Wedding Resources” or something like that. Do you have any other “out of the box” ideas for them to be featured on your blog either in a post or sitewide (like an advertorial, blog post review, featured products?)
Look forward to hearing back from you and keep up the great writing!!

    Sincerely,
    Leslie Jenkins

  31. Nick Says:

    Hi,

I was looking at your blog and I was curious what it would take to get a text link on your blog saying something like “Tungsten Wedding Bands” or “Tungsten Wedding Rings” with a hyperlink to our site (www.superiorweddingrings.com).  We are a relatively new company and we are currently trying to improve our page ranking on Google, and I think that having a link on your homepage will really help us out.  We operate on a small budget, and we would be more than willing to give you a tungsten ring from our site in exchange for a link.  Let me know if this would be something that you would be interested in.  Thanks for any help you can give us.

    Thank You

  33. Amparo Says:

    Love your blog!
I am getting married on January 2011. I live in Uruguay ,South America. Sadly, here we havent got as many options as you have, so your blog has been really inspiring.
I am planning to go to the US in November, to get my wedding dress (here there are not ready wedding dresses for sale, all brides get the custom made, but it just isn t my style). I was planning to go to Miami because I am familiar with the city, I can drive and I know it pretty well. Nevertheless, the more I search on the web, the more I start hesitating about my decision, and I am having second thoughts about if New york wouldn t be a better destiny for my travelling reasons. I am not so familiar with ny, obviously I won t drive and somehow I think maybe it is more difficult to shop for wedding dress (I was told in Miami everthing regarding weddings is very much near each other).
As you may see, I am pretty confused, and I have to purchase the tickets right now. I was hoping you could help me with you advice. Note I am looking maybe for a vintage inspired gown.
I love Monique Lhullier, Vera Wang, Anne Barge, Jenny Packham, Priscilla of Boston, Elizabeth Fillmore. I know I will surely find their gowns in NY, but not sure about Miami (I am afraid retailers aren t as good in terms of stock, as if you go to the real store) I am still not sure about my budget for the dress, but I am hoping I can get a designer dress.
I would really apreciatte your advice!!!

    Thanks

    Amparo (Sorry for my English!)
