This post is inspired by my fabulous friend Julie who recently got engaged, and who has already captured my imagination with her whirlwind planning (the wedding is scheduled for August, that’s barely 6 months away!). Julie and her fiance are committed to throwing a community centered, local inspired, eco and budget friendly wedding complete with picnic style reception in an outdoor amphitheatre. How cool is that? I’m sure I’ll coerce her to share some of her wedding details on the site, but until then here are some of the gorgeous images already floating through my mind. I can’t wait to see what they come up with!

We have some fantastic favors, many that fit into the eco-friendly and outdoor fall wedding themes. When you have a minute you should check us out, or share our site with your friend. Will you be throwing Julia’s shower? Maybe consider the eco-friendly bamboo coasters for your party favors…

wow, so beautiful! does anyone know where those bridesmaid dresses are from? i love them!
I’m having a picnic wedding as well. So much fun to plan…no rules to follow. Its totally yours to do whatever you want! My favors, centerpieces and bridal table arraignment is all done with galvanized (watering cans for the centerpieces and favors) a oblong tub for the bridal table and all have ribbon matching my colors and pearls. We are using picnic tables and for the benches we are covering with bleached muslin covers kept on with stapled wedding color ribbon. Instead of a unity candle we are doing a sand ceremony. A harpist will do the ceremony and my Ipod will do the entertainment. Lots of tulle, tissue paper, organdy butterflies and ribbon for the pavillion Who says picnic weddings can’t be elegant?
Hi Kathie, Just wondering how your wedding came out. We’re planning to do something similar with the picnic tables (which are just so ugly right now), and I am worried they won’t look nice. If you’re still checking here, please let me know!

This is cute on so many levels!
You’re actually right… This idea is actually cool and would be a lot of fun! I never thought of having a picnic wedding before, but now I’m pretty sure to choose that concept someday. Thanks for inspiring me with your wonderful post!!!
I love the painting that inspired the rest … and I love the pictures! Seura’s painting is stunning, and I never thought of using a beloved painting to inspire a wedding look.
ALWAYS love the look of a picnic wedding! Can’t beat casual!
This is super duper cute! I saw some invites in MS Weddings that were done on kraft paper stock with bold red ink…lovely for outdoor/picnic weddings!
We are doing a camping/guitar pickin party/picnic wedding at a friend’s vacation home in May. The tables and benches will be made from 2×4’s and plywood then reused as a greenhouse. We will be using old china, silver and stemware. It should be a BLAST!!!
This picnic wedding plan is very good idea. This is also very cool.
Thanks for given Post.
I’m having a morning picnic wedding in april. I love purple and I’m a tomboy, so we’re doing it super informal. I’m going to wear a two-tone purple dress. There wont be bridesmaids and groomsmen. We’re hiring picnic baskets and using grass african mats as the picnic blankets. We’ve found an old castle in a nature reserve (I live in south africa), where the zebras walk right thru the area we will be picnicing!!! How awesome is that? The baskets will have finger foods packed in them, and biodegradeable fancy paper plates, thus no need for utensils. As entertainment we will be playing games like musical chairs and freeze dancing. The invitations have not been printed yet, but I’m adapting the nursery rhyme “teddy Bear’s picnic” for our invites.
Positively objective. Very encouraging. Because I’m not a fine English author I really took the criticisms genuinely. I made a lot to improve. I found this blog post to be very beneficial for my learning and stack information. Thank you for one of the most energizing write ups I will in all probability ever see. I learned a great deal in a short point of time. I enjoyed the eye candy phrases and style and the power to pace my reading.
i’m usually jumping around the net just about all of the time thus I possess a tendency to peruse substantially, which unfortunately is not always a beneficial option as the largest part of the internet resources I view are composed of pointless rubbish copied from various other web pages a trillion times, on the other hand I have to give you credit this blog is frankly half decent and even consists of a bit of authentic material, for that reason kudos for breaking the fad of only replicating other people’s blogs 🙂
Mi dispiace, ma, a mio parere, si sono errati. Dobbiamo discutere. Scrivere a me in PM, ti parla.
